CRISIS MANAGEMENT

How to be ready. The in-house counsel key role.

Associazione Italiana Giuristi d’Impresa (AIGI), the Italian Association of Company Lawyers member of ECLA (European Company Lawyers Association), will host the 5th edition of the Summer School at the medieval village of Bertinoro (Forlì – Cesena) – Italy.
The Summer School will provide participants with the opportunity to focus on the key topics that an in-house counsel should consider in identifying, preventing and managing crisis situations, leveraging on the professional experience of the Speakers that will join the sessions. The aim of the program is to balance legal and academic principles with use cases and to foster interactive discussions, sharing know-how and best practices.

The program is addressed to in-house counsels, head of legal departments and general counsels, who are interested in achieving crisis management expertise through law, both at national and international level. Being the audience composed only by in-house counsels, the participants will have the opportunity to work with colleagues with similar backgrounds, eager to share their experience with other in-house counsels.
The lecture material will be in English, but the lessons will be in Italian unless there will be foreign participants, so it is strongly recommended to have a good command of English.

The AIGI Summer School is a unique opportunity to acquire knowledge and skills that will foster the professional development of the participants and will provide an overview on how to manage a crisis from an in-house counsels perspective, considering all possible interactions between key stakeholders, senior management, officers and the legal department.
At the same time, the AIGI Summer School is an opportunity to enjoy some free time in an informal context through social activities organized in Bertinoro.

The program will guide the participants to handle corporate crisis caused by possible incidents which may affect various corporate areas and activities (e.g. cyber security, ethics & compliance, data privacy, antitrust, criminal exposure, brand reputation), with focus on the different key roles / functions involved in the management of the relevant crisis events.
The lessons will be based on a combination of focused lectures and practical case studies which will be useful to address and manage corporate crisis from a legal standpoint and in the most suitable manner.
The program will be held by experienced senior In-House counsels and by high standing attorneys / academic speakers with strong professional expertise in the relevant fields.
